About Simone

Simone was elected as the Member for Pumicestone in 2017. She currently serves as the Shadow Assistant Minister for Education for the LNP and is a Committee Member of the Parliamentary Education, Tourism, Innovation and Small Business Committee.

“Nearly fifteen years ago my husband, Steve, and I moved to here to raise our family and I can say with confidence, this is the place to live. Five boys later (all born at the Caboolture Hospital), we know every sports field, emergency medical facility, fishing location and takeaway in the region.

Locally, I have worked as a Teacher Aide at the Bribie Island State High School as well as the Australian Red Cross Employment Service where I specialised in supporting locals experiencing difficulty in getting a job. I have also worked as a client manager for a finance company where I helped local clients plan and meet their financial goals. It’s grassroots jobs like these that have helped me gain a greater understanding of the needs of people in our communities and I will never lose sight of this.

As the daughter of two former school teachers (who also enjoy living in the Pumicestone Electorate) I know just how important a good education is to a brighter future for our kids. Parents are concerned about education standards and when sending their children off to school, they want to know that their child is safe and receiving the very best education that can be provided. I am honoured to serve as the Shadow Assistant Education Minister and I will bring my first-hand frontline experience in working in schools to this role.

I am committed to fighting for more investment in our region and ensuring Pumicestone gets our fair share of transport infrastructure and upgrades to fix long overdue problems across the electorate’s roads.

I also firmly believe that a strong, growing economy is the best way to ensure that families and individuals in Pumicestone have job opportunities, better health and education services and a safer community to live in.”
